A 15-month long collaboration of creativity and delicious beverages for a good cause.
In May 2017, Taylors Of Harrogate approached us with an idea for a rather special partnership. They wanted to develop a series of creative workshops using their teas and coffees, and take eight content creators on a journey starting at their home in Harrogate and ending at one of the origins of their teas and coffees in Rwanda.
Launching in October 2017, the Extraordinary Journey project will invest in the creativity of eight content creators – from storytelling workshops and cooking sessions, to botanical walks and cinemagraph classes. Each workshop is crafted around a Taylors of Harrogate passion point – travel, craftsmanship, food and nature – and will focus on skills they may find valuable when reporting on their trip to Rwanda in February of 2019.
We are excited about this collaboration for a particularly special reason. Not only is Rwanda home to some of the greatest emerging teas and coffees in the world, it is also home to one of Creating for Good's chosen charities. Since 1997, Women For Women International has served more than 75,000 in Rwanda through their year-long programme. The women they support each care for an average of 3 children, have an average daily income of $0.22 at enrolment and 36% have no formal education.
We are thrilled at the support Taylors of Harrogate is contributing to Women for Women International as part of this collaboration. And very excited that participants in this programme will get to see Women for Women International’s work in the field and meet Taylor’s farmers first hand during our trip to Rwanda at the end of this Extraordinary Journey.
Meet our creators! They will be joining us on this journey over the coming 15 months and creating as they go. You’ll be able to follow along on their Extraordinary Journey on their Instagram feed and websites. We'll share some fun behind the scenes here on our website as well.
